A History of Malcolm Racing

Malcolm racing began when Brian Malcolm entered his 1980 Malibu into the sportsman division at North Bay Speedway. Brian would go on to compete at Barrie speedway in 1982 and would collect 6 track championships along the way.

In 1988 Brian would take a break from racing and reopen North Bay Speedway after it had been closed for a number of years and bring back stock car racing to the city of North Bay. Brian would get back behind the wheel in 1990 competing at tracks across Ontario and went on to capture the 1994 & 1995 Cascar Points Championship.

Darin Malcolm (Brian’s son) would start his racing career in 1995 at North Bay Speedway. He would go onto collect 2 straight points championship seasons.

Like his father, Darin would go on to compete at Southern Ontario Speedways and collecting numerous victories in some of Ontario’s biggest racing events along the way.

Darin has gained the respect from his peers and has established a well known name throughout Ontario as he is always one of the drivers to watch. In 2014 Darin would take a break from racing and concentrate on raising a family with his wife Colette, now married 23yrs and having two children Miller 13 and Macy 10 residing in Oro-Medonte Ont.

Darin’s a 26-year employee of Honda Canada Manufacturing in Alliston Ont. and will be returning to Sunset Speedway to compete in the Modified Division championship in 2025.
